Jodha, also known as jodhabai, was a historical figure who was one of the wives of emperor akbar, the third mughal emperor of india. she was born as a rajput princess, and her marriage to akbar was a significant political alliance between the mughal empire and the rajput kingdoms. jodha bai's birth name was harkha bai, and she was the daughter of raja bharmal, the ruler of amer (present-day jaipur). in 1562, she was married to akbar in order to strengthen the ties between the mughals and the rajputs. the marriage was seen as a symbol of religious harmony, as jodha bai was a hindu princess and akbar was a muslim emperor.
